What Information Do We Collect?
When you sign up for our email newsletter, we collect your email. When you submit information via our Contact Form, we collect your name, email address, and phone number (the phone number is optional).
When you pay a deposit for a tour or complete a booking for a tour, we collect your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, the names of the people traveling, travelers’ age ranges, and special considerations regarding the people traveling (such as allergies, dietary restrictions, and pre-existing health issues). Your credit card number (for purchased made via the website) is directly passed through to our credit card processor (Stripe) and we only have access to the last four digits. If you pay via PayPal, your credit card or bank information is held by PayPal.
We collect non-identifiable personal information using “cookies." A cookie is a small data file that a website can transfer to your hard drive through your browser. The cookie is then stored on your computer as an anonymous tag that identifies your computer, but not you. You can set your browser to notify you if cookies are received, or set up your browser to not accept cookies.
We may collect some other personally identifying information about your transaction in a non-identifiable format and combine it with other non-identifiable information, to be analyzed only at an aggregate level for marketing purposes.
How Do We Use Your Information?
We use your email to send you the information you requested and occasional business announcements and updates. If you begin a transaction, we may contact you using your email to assist you in completing your booking.
We use your billing address and your phone number to process your transaction. We use your phone number and/or your email to contact you about your booking.
Upon your booking, your information will be passed along to third party contractors and outside agents who provide services and organize tours in Suriname. These third parties will send you information and contact you directly regarding your booking, per their privacy policies and other agreements with you.
EdenSuriname.com does not respond to DNT (“Do Not Track”) privacy settings in your website browser. Eden Suriname LLC may use third-party tracking services to provide data to optimize the services available on EdenSuriname.com.
How Do You Unsubscribe?
If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, you can opt-out or unsubscribe by clicking on the link in any email newsletter we send to you. If you would like to unsubscribe from receiving emails from third parties, you must contact them directly to change your contact preferences.
How Do We Protect Your Information?
We use various security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information, including transmitting your data securely and hosting your data on a secure server and/or a third-party password-protected, secure service. Any third party secure service we use to host your data will keep your information confidential, will not sell or share your information, and will not contact you directly. We use a secure, PCI-compliant payment processor (Stripe) to process any credit card payments, as described above. If you choose to use PayPal to pay for a booking, they hold your credit card and/or bank information according to their agreement with you.
We share your information with third parties to provide the tour services you book using EdenSuriname.com. We have no control over how those third parties use your contact information.
We will also release your information as required by law or if necessary to protect our legal rights, to comply with a judicial proceeding or court order, to prevent threats to others or illegal activities, or to prevent abuse of EdenSuriname.com.
Circumstances may arise where we may decide to sell, buy, merge, or otherwise reorganize our business in the United States or elsewhere, or where we may decide to share, rent, buy, or sell business assets for the purpose of reorganizing, developing, or expanding our business. It is our policy to seek appropriate protection for information in these types of transactions. If the EdenSuriname.com assets or our entire company is acquired, then the lists of personally identifiable information and other contact information will likely be one of the assets acquired.
Information Regarding Children
This website is not directed to people who are under 13 years of age. We do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age, except we may collect the names of travelers age 12 who are attending tours with a parent/guardian or with a school group. Please notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are a parent whose child has provided us with personally identifying information, and we will delete such information from our files.
